Welcome to the Grenade Rogue Specialized Build Guide! This build features a unique playstyle unlike any other on the Rogue by scaling the power of Grenades as high as possible. The main combo relies on stacking enough Cooldown Reduction so that a single Puncture can reset your Evade, which triggers the release of Grenades twice via Lethal Dusk and Opportunist's. With the full combo unlocked, this setup can clear any content reasonably well and you can call yourself a true master of explosives!
Our Specialized Builds are Endgame builds with specific requirements and purposes. In order to play them, you are expected to already have specific items and effects available. To get there, we recommend you use one of our existing lvl 50-100 Endgame Build Guides.
Requirements for this build to function:
- All listed Grenade Aspects from the Gear section with a focus on Opportunist's
- 30%+ total Cooldown Reduction for Evade
- "Attacks Reduce Evade Cooldown by 1.5 Seconds" affix on Boots

Season 4 - Loot Reborn
In Season 4, the Season Theme revolves around helping out the Iron Wolves. Compared to past themes, this one does not offer any borrowed power as the entire game has been redesigned with new itemization and crafting options, increasing player power substantially across the board. Instead, you can gather reputation similar to the Vampire Bounty Board from Season 2 to unlock rewards that supercharge your leveling journey to 100 with extra items, crafting materials and eventually even a Resplendent Spark to craft an uber unique.
We recommend to follow the seasonal questline until you unlock the reputation system, check which rewards suit you most and then follow your regular leveling path. To learn more, check out our full Season 4 guide for more information.
Gameplay
In order to pilot this build properly, you need to understand how it deals damage:
- Entering & exiting Stealth releases Grenades from Opportunist's.
- Evade triggers Stealth from Lethal Dusk.
- We apply Shadow Imbuement actively with Dash, Flurry or Shadow Step.
- Alternatively, we apply Shadow Imbuement passively by taking hits with Volatile Shadows + Umbrous.
- With Cooldown Reduction on Helm & Amulets and Tempered Evade Cooldown Reduction on Boots & Amulet it's possible to reduce Evade cooldown low enough that a single Puncture can reset it.
- Besides Opportunist's, all the other Grenade triggers & aspects are irrelevant and only included to boost their damage.
- Enhanced Caltrops together with extra duration tempers on weapons provides a massive damage boost in long boss fights, especially during stagger phases.
This leaves us with a very simple damage rotation:
- Activate Close Quarters Combat once every 8 seconds.
- Throw down Caltrops if its going to be a long fight.
- Apply Shadow Imbuement at least once every 6 seconds.
- Evade through the target.
- Puncture once (twice if your gear is not properly optimized yet).
- Go faster & don't get hit with d4-skill id=358761]Dash[/d4-skill] and Shadow Step.
- Repeat steps 4 & 5.
